Common Purse was born out of the idea that philanthropy is in need of an overhaul. Much good work needs to be done in this world, but charities have become massive, impersonal and unwieldy affairs. Many of us have grown cynical over the years watching our donations be misspent or even disappear into black holes of administration fees, huge salaries and failure to oversee the final outcomes.

We want to support the needs of small and nimble do-gooders; people and projects that are real and who will get the job done…with integrity, insight and innovative approaches.

Our goal is to help find, sponsor and connect worthy projects with great people who are creative, motivated and intelligent in their giving. We believe that small, personal and more transparent enterprises can often better serve the needs of their communities.

We believe that uncommon ideas and fresh ways of doing good will result in less waste of time and resources, more transparency and even more fun. If you're tired of the same old drill, come join us on a journey of discovery... Dare to give wisely. Dare to give freely. Discover your inner philanthropist!

Think you've got a better idea? Nurture your dream here... Pursue your passion with the 'Purse'!

Hope Canine Resource Service

January 2011

HOPE Canine Resource Service, Inc. has been providing options and support to dog owners in Madison County, Indiana since 2006. HOPE is dedicated to keeping pets in their homes that might otherwise be neglected, abandoned or relinquished to shelters due to factors such as financial hardship, behavioral problems, divorce and family stress.

Through a combination of education, practical support and bringing together all the available resources, HOPE has enabled many dogs to remain with their families.

HOPE's mission and primary emphasis is keeping dogs and their families united through counseling and practical assistance. HOPE was incorporated in 2006. Since that time, numerous dogs have been helped. There are many remarkable stories and happy tails as a result of hard work and networking.

In recent years, economic factors have left many families in the painful position of having to surrender their family pets to shelters. HOPE has stepped into the gap. The families are provided with options. There are alternatives to surrendering a family pet to a shelter where they are often put down or destroyed. Most families would opt to keep their pets if they knew assistance was available to help with food and vet bills.

HOPE makes that possible. HOPE assists with educating the families about the mutual value of keeping their animals in the home. By carefully evaluating the needs in each circumstance and then providing direct assistance in the form of food, vet bills, dog houses, crates, straw, medicines and the like, the family remains intact. HOPE provides close continuing support to the families and their pets. HOPE HELPS PEOPLE HELP THEMSELVES.

HOPE believes that by providing quality education and guidance and by nurturing the human to animal bond, a significant reduction of the number of dogs relinquished to shelters or rescues in our community can be made. HOPE emphasizes the responsibility of pet ownership, addresses pet overpopulation, educates children on animal safety and humane education, and assists dog owners such as seniors who are at risk of relinquishing their companion animals to shelters due to personal health conditions or limitations.

In addition, many calls are received for assistance with abused animals and rescues that cannot be adequately handled by overtaxed facilities or bureaucratic entities. HOPE is able to quickly respond and provide help well beyond the scope of traditional agencies. There are NO administrative fees at HOPE. 100% of donations go directly to the dogs’ needs HOPE IS HERE ….24/7…365 days a year. Please give them your support.
